The AAPA/ASRT Fluoroscopy Online Test Preparatory Course is a comprehensive educational program designed to prepare PAs for The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Fluoroscopy exam. This course requires completion of videos, modules, and post-tests. It is designed to satisfy the 40 hours of didactic content required by state law for PAs wishing to utilize fluoroscopy in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Montana, Oregon, and Virginia. In addition to the 40 AAPA Category 1 CME credits that this course provides, you are responsible to meet any additional requirements your state mandates.

PAs are legally “professionals” and therefore have a special obligation to their patients. This activity outlines the concept of professional liability and how PAs can employ risk management techniques to mitigate the PA's exposure to liability and responsibly meet his/her legal obligation.

With the ACC and AHA projecting that the prevalence of heart failure will increase by 46% from 2012 to 2030 resulting in 8 million patients with the disease, heart failure is here to stay. So, what do you do when all guideline-directed medical therapies fail patients? Is there another treatment option for these patients? The answer is yes! Advanced heart failure therapies such as Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs) and heart transplantation are giving heart failure patients the chance to begin again, but they rely on providers to get them the help they need in a small window of time. This session will discuss these therapies in detail and help providers identify which patients could benefit from these therapies today, thereby saving their life tomorrow.

This activity will use a case-based approach to cover a variety of topics seen in hospital neurology practice including secondary headache disorders, seizures and status epilepticus, central nervous system infection, and intracerebral hemorrhage.
