Cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) are extremely common and are seen in all adult specialties. As our population continues to age and heart failure is recognized earlier with more treatment options, this number will only increase. This session will discuss an overview of CIEDs, including function and indications for pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization therapy, and loop recorders. This presentation will equip the primary care PA to feel comfortable referring for devices and recognizing and referring for device complications.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a gut-brain disorder characterized by abdominal pain and disordered defecation. Although it is one of the most commonly identified gastrointestinal disorders worldwide, complete understanding of the disease pathophysiology is still evolving. Because of this, newer treatment options are continuously under development and clinicians require ongoing educational opportunities to remain up to date with best diagnostic, management, and treatment practices. The AAPA/ASRT Fluoroscopy Online Test Preparatory Course is a comprehensive educational program designed to prepare PAs for The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Fluoroscopy exam. This course requires completion of videos, modules, and post-tests. It is designed to satisfy the 40 hours of didactic content required by state law for PAs wishing to utilize fluoroscopy in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Montana, Oregon, and Virginia. In addition to the 40 AAPA Category 1 CME credits that this course provides, you are responsible to meet any additional requirements your state mandates.
