Research CME Series

Research CME is a series of webinars designed for both PAs and PA Students. This series, formerly known as Research 101 and Research 201, is updated regularly to continually introduce emerging PA/PA student researchers to key skills designed to advance their research goals. Within these lessons, learners can find content exploring topics on why research is important, types of research PAs are involved in, education on the fundamentals of research, and other special topics to enhance participants' skills; specific research methods, data and applications, and strategies for communicating the importance of their work. The videos in the series may be watched in any order, and any number may be watched and rewatched as needed. The arrangement of the courses, some formerly part of Research 101 and Research 201 series, is updated regularly to continually introduce emerging PA/PA student researchers to key skills designed to advance their research goals.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of these activities, participants should be able to:

  • Develop foundational knowledge in research methodologies, clinical trials, and evidence-based practices
  • Enhance skills in data analysis, visualization, and implementing tools like Excel and R through practical, healthcare research-based, demonstrations
  • Identify strategies for professional growth through mentorship, networking, and effective scientific communication strategies
  • Apply concepts of patient-centered outcomes and quality improvement to future research and funding proposals
  • Evaluate and utilize sources of secondary data, funding opportunities, and institutional resources to support research and clinical advancement
