Leadership Academy: The Succession Plan for Building Leaders

PA state organizations are led by volunteer leaders. As volunteer leaders, we are sometimes mentored to lead and sometimes asked to lead based on passion for the PA profession. In today's healthcare delivery system, PAs are busier than ever and finding PAs willing to lead is challenging. The marketplace is changing and PAs need to become leaders in their clinical practice and in their communities. The purpose of a Leadership Academy is to prepare PAs and PA students for leadership within their state organization and their clinical practices. The ultimate goal is to train PAs and PA students to confidently run for office within their state PA organization, advocate for their profession through involvement in clinical practice committees and develop relationships in the community to promote the PA profession.
