Pain management can be difficult not only for patients but for the provider as well. This session will review the basics of pain: physical, emotional, and spiritual. The faculty will offer a step-wise approach for managing pain in the non-surgical adult patient, which will include pharmacologic therapies, non-pharmacologic therapies, complementary/alternative medicine therapies, and interventional therapies. By the end of the session, PAs will be eager to play a pivotal role in helping patients through a difficult, and often distressing symptom.
