Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral for Eating Disorders
This session will explore the SBIRT-ED (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment for Eating Disorders) model, a vital tool for detecting and addressing eating disorders in healthcare settings. Attendees will learn how to incorporate effective screening methods, deliver brief, impactful interventions using Motivational Interviewing, and create referral pathways for patients in need of specialized care. The lecture will focus on how SBIRT-ED improves early identification and intervention in primary care, emergency departments, and underserved communities, helping to bridge the gap in eating disorder treatment.
