As important members of primary care and cardiology practices, PAs have a critical role in the management of patients with dyslipidemia. To optimize patient care, PAs must be up-to-date on the characteristics of treatment options available for LDL-C lowering and the potential role of various lipid-lowering agents being used in combination. To optimize therapy, providers should also be aware of guideline recommendations for dyslipidemia management, the importance of medication adherence, and how to identify strategies to increase patient adherence and positive outcomes. This program aims to increase knowledge and competence in these areas to assist PAs in enhancing overall patient care for patients with dyslipidemia.

- Evaluate available options for LDL-C management to identify appropriate therapy
- Implement guideline-based recommendations for both risk evaluation and management of dyslipidemia
- Integrate patient specific risk assessment and clinical considerations into the decision-making process
- Create integrated patient care plans to optimize medication adherence
