This will serve as a community where all PAs, regardless of practice setting or specialty, can come together to share and discuss current and relevant research and evidence-based approaches to obesity care. As part of the series of activities on Addressing Obesity: A Community of Practice, this webinar focuses on developing long-term treatment plans for obesity based on patient characteristics, comorbid conditions and complications, preferences, and access. You will also learn to integrate nutritional, behavioral, and physical activity interventions into treatment plans and refer appropriate patients for metabolic surgery.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Formulate a long-term treatment plan for obesity based on patient characteristics, comorbid conditions and complications, preferences, and access
- Integrate non-pharmacological interventions into the treatment plan including nutritional, behavioral, and physical activity
- Refer appropriate patients for metabolic surgery
