Recognition and Management of Alcohol Use Disorder

Misuse of alcohol has been a maladaptive coping skill since likely the first fermented brew was developed. While data collection has been impacted, it does appear that the COVID pandemic has only worsened the rates of addiction to alcohol and other substances. This activity reviews evidenced-based screening protocols for alcohol use disorder, decision tools for determining appropriate levels of care, and options for medication management.
