ENT for the PA-C 2019: Diagnosis and Management of Globus and Dysphagia

This activity explores the presentation, workup, and interdisciplinary therapeutic plans available for managing both globus sensation and dysphagia.


Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: 
  • Recognize the clinical presentations of patients complaining of globus (sensation of a lump in the throat) and dysphagia (difficulty swallowing)
  • Develop and coordinate an evaluative plan to include endoscopy, imaging, and other special studies as indicated
  • Recommend and implement a management plan, medical and/or procedural, and know when to engage other specialists and providers (eg, gastroenterologists and speech-language pathologists)
