Opioid Use Disorder During Pregnancy: An OverviewWomen with opioid use disorder who become pregnant are a particularly vulnerable population and require a comprehensive treatment approach for mother and fetus. Research is continuing on opioid use disorder, effects of opioid use on the fetus, and best treatment approaches. This activity reviews current recommendations and guidelines for treatment.
Acute monoarthritis affects a single joint and has many potential underlying causes, including crystal deposition diseases, infection, trauma, and osteoarthritis. A comprehensive health history and physical examination can help narrow the list of differential diagnoses; judicious diagnostic testing can help pinpoint the diagnosis. Clinicians also must be able to recognize which patients require emergency referral to prevent long-term adverse consequences. This activity addresses common causes of monoarthritis.
