Designed specifically for new graduate Physician Associates, this course offers an in-depth exploration of essential topics that go beyond the textbooks. Bringing together content from past conferences, we cover key areas including effective job search strategies, leveraging AI tools to enhance patient care, managing overnight patient care, promoting personal well-being, navigating PA state advocacy, and making a meaningful impact in the profession. Additionally, we explore what the textbooks don’t teach you in emergency medicine, providing practical, real-world insights every new PA should know. This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to thrive in your PA career.

Osteoporosis, the most common bone disease, is associated with significant morbidity and mortality in older women and men. Fractures related to osteoporosis occur in both women and men, at a total of approximately 2 million fractures per year. Though osteoporosis has a significant impact on older Americans, it remains under-diagnosed. This educational program will focus on diagnostic guidelines, appropriate pharmacologic recommendations, and treatment monitoring. PAs who participate in this program will be better able to diagnose patients with osteoporosis and recognize the impact of the disease. These PAs will also be more prepared to assess the clinical safety and efficacy profiles of pharmacologic therapies and select appropriate agents for patients with osteoporosis. Additionally, PAs will be better prepared to monitor patients who receive treatment for osteoporosis, including in the assessment of treatment response.

This presentation explores the value of PAs in healthcare, examining key components that contribute to patient outcomes and employer benefits. Participants will analyze evidence supporting PA value, assess methods of measurement, and discuss limitations that may underestimate their impact. By understanding these factors, PAs will be better equipped to demonstrate their contributions effectively to employers, colleagues, and the healthcare system as a whole.

This presentation provides PAs with a comprehensive overview of healthcare reimbursement, including evolving payment models and value-based care. Participants will explore key Medicare billing policies, such as “incident to” and “shared visit” billing, as well as essential enrollment and credentialing requirements for payer reimbursement. By understanding these critical financial and regulatory aspects, PAs can optimize billing practices, maximize reimbursement, and enhance the financial sustainability of their clinical practice.

The 2025 Standards of Care in Diabetes includes all the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) current clinical practice recommendations and is intended to provide clinicians, patients, researchers, payers, and others with the components of diabetes care, general treatment goals, and tools to evaluate the quality of care. The recommendations are based on an extensive review of the clinical diabetes literature, supplemented with input from ADA staff and the medical community at large. The Standards of Care in Diabetes is updated annually, or more frequently online if new evidence or regulatory changes merit immediate incorporation and is published in Diabetes Care. To boost early detection of cognitive decline, the American Academy of Physician Associates and the PA Foundation partnered with Cleveland Clinic to create a cognitive assessment toolkit for healthcare providers.

Featuring recorded sessions from the 2025 We Are Family (Medicine) conference, the Family Medicine on Demand 2025 course is designed for Physician Associates (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in family medicine, offering essential, evidence-based content to enhance clinical practice. This video-based CME activity offers up to 28.0 credits of AAPA Category 1 CME. Topics include the management of thyroid disorders, mental health conditions, anemia, and diabetes, as well as approaches for obesity treatment, congestive heart failure, and preoperative risk assessment.
