This is an 8 hour training course for physicians and physician assistants who wish to prescribe buprenorphine to treat opioid use disorder (OUD). This training will satisfy the 8 hour training requirement mandated by the MATE Act.

This series counts toward the new Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) requirement for PAs treating and managing opioid use disorder (OUD) and substance use disorder (SUD). The series focuses on alcohol use disorder, pain management and opioids, dismantling the stigma, and more.

Research demonstrates patients with an alcohol use disorder (AUD) are twice as likely to be seen by their primary care provider than those without an AUD. Recent studies also find that healthcare providers may not be good at recognizing substance use disorders (SUDs) in the outpatient setting.
